6 ways to fall in love all over again

It's never too late (or too early) to build your marriage into something stronger.
  • You've been married for years and that initial spark is long gone. You could give up on love (like too many do) but instead of taking that road, take time to rebuild your relationship back up to what it used to be.

  • No matter how "out of love you feel", follow these six simple ways to fall in love with your spouse all over again.

  • 1. Make a choice

  • Love is a choice - and it's time to ask yourself if you want love in your life. If your answer is yes then you've made the decision to stay with your spouse. You have made a decision to once again, be involved in their in their life and find ways to love them.

  • This may seem like a hard choice, but there were reasons you got together in the first place and if you look for them, there will be reasons to stay together. This person can make you very happy if you make the choice to make them happy.

  • 2. Be grateful

  • Write down the things your honey does that you are truly grateful for. Find lots of things about your spouse that you love. Spend time throughout the days and weeks adding to a long list. Keep these lists where you can see them in case you need a reminder.

  • From doing the dishes or remembering to turn off the porch light or rubbing your feet when they're cold, there are a lot of things to be grateful for. Never forget that.

  • When you make your list, you will be surprised at how many things your spouse does just for you.

  • 3. Do something spontaneous

  • There's something to be said about letting spontaneity bring some life back into your relationship. Sometimes you have to be shocked out of your schedule to remember why your spouse is so important to you.

  • So, be spontaneous. It doesn't have to be totally unplanned, just something out of the ordinary. Make sure that it's an activity that you can easily talk through or gives you a chance to reconnect - stay away from those spontaneous solitary activities.

  • 4. Look into their eyes when they are talking

  • It's important that you rebuild the connection of listening and reassuring your spouse that you care. Do this by actually listening to what they are saying. The eyes truly are the windows to the soul and you might be surprised what you see when you stare into your sweetheart's eyes.

  • Oh and while you are longingly looking into each other's eyes, don't be afraid to flirt a bit or lean in for a kiss.

  • 5. Go to bed at the same time

  • Right before bed is the ideal time to reconnect with your honey, but that can't happen if you two aren't going to bed at the same time. So, before you drift off to sleep, just listen and talk. Snuggle. Warm their feet. Hold hands. Spending time together is really what will build your relationship back to where you want it and creating this nightly ritual will do wonders.

  • 6. Give lingering kisses

  • Try locking lips a little longer than normal. This shows your darling that you want to just take in the moment and savor it. Let your spouse know you are smooching out of obligation, but that you really want to be kissing them. Focus on leaving memorable and tender kisses and see your marriage flourish.

  • According to marriage experts, Gary and Joy Lundberg say that lingering kisses are the type of kisses to make him remember you. You will be the one he wants to come home to if you leave him with lingering kisses.

  • No one said that marriage would be easy, but it is definitely worth it. Even when it's hard, just remember that it's never too early or too late to work on falling in love again.
