7 ways to go a week without showering and not stink

The morning routine can be tricky. You'll be relieved to find out it's possible to go a week without showering and still not stink.
  • Mornings with kids can be tricky. Between getting the kids up, dressed and out the door on time, there is hardly time for a shower. Fortunately, it is possible to skip the shower for a few days without the whole world smelling your presence.

  • Here are 7 things you can do to simplify your morning routine and, ahem, not stink.

  • Baking soda and baby powder

  • help control sweat, reduce friction-induced rashes, and absorb odors. They're also common household items, cheap to purchase, and easy to apply. Just sprinkle directly onto your skin.

  • Scented dryer sheets

  • don't just make your clothes smell good, they can freshen your skin, too.

  • Hand sanitizer

  • can work in a snap as a quick bacteria-killing substance. Rub it anywhere you tend to sweat to kill the microorganisms that are causing your body odor.

  • Baby wipes or moist towelettes

  • can serve as a sort of sponge bath. They come in small, resealable packages and often contain alcohol or other sanitizing properties. Makeup wipes also come in handy for quickly removing makeup while leaving your skin clean and fresh without the extra time to wash your face.

  • Dry shampoo

  • comes in powders and sprays and is a great option for washing your hair with no water. Sprinkle or spray it in your hair, comb it through, and you're done. It helps absorb oil and smells fresh, and certain types are even volumizing — which is great when you don't have access to electric styling tools. Don't have dry shampoo? Spray starch (you know, the kind you use for ironing clothes) is said to do the trick, too.

  • Wrinkle-free, quick-dry clothing

  • is easy to wash in the sink and dries fast so you can get dressed without waiting for the washer and dryer.

  • Clothing with odor-fighting properties

  • actually fights odor-causing bacteria, so you can throw on the same pair of pants as you drive the carpool without rivaling the smell of the teenage boys in the backseat.
