Mirror, Mirror: Am I the greatest of them all?

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? An interactive mirror shows some women exactly who they truly are.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see a hot mess? Someone who is just “OK?” Do you ever see someone who is enough? As women, we are often very hard on ourselves. We have a hard time focusing on our good qualities, and instead, we focus on our failures, our weaknesses.

In this video, several women walked up to an interactive mirror. They were first asked how they felt about themselves when they looked in the mirror, but the mirror later showed them what they should really see. It showed them their true potential.

How do we find that true potential when we are at home and the house is a mess, our kids are fighting and dinner will be leftovers (again)? It isn’t easy, but it can be done.

1 – Forget yourself

Forgetting yourself and serving others is one of the best and easiest ways to discover your true potential. You never know when someone is hurting, when one simple act can be an answer to prayers for someone else. Always be willing to serve another person whether it is a family member, a friend or a stranger.

2 – Take care of yourself physically

Being physically fit and eating healthy not only gives you the energy you need to accomplish tasks throughout the day, it also helps you feel better about yourself. Exercise releases endorphins that lift your mood. You will find yourself a lot happier when you move.

3 – Pray for help

Sometimes our lives seem so difficult and overwhelming that we feel buried. We feel like we can’t escape the pit of discouragement we have dug for ourselves. However, there is help. Pray for help to see your full potential. Pray that you will be able to push away negative thoughts that you may find in your mind. A little extra help can go a long way.

We may not feel like we are enough, but we are. We each have qualities and traits that make us unique and wonderful. If you were to see yourself in an interactive mirror today, what do you think it would say?
